IBM’s New Africa Tech Leader
Another Career First for IBM Africa’s Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh-By Drive Africa Writer
IBM Africa has a new regional head in Ghana’s Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh. She was the first country manager for Ghana for the global technology giant. Her recent appointment as Regional Head for North, East, and West Africa is another career first for her as she now becomes the first female to hold that role. In her new position she will oversee the company’s operations across 40 African countries which will include Ghana, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Tunisia and Uganda. She was also the company’s Strategy Lead for Central and West Africa having previously worked as Marketing Manager for the West Africa region. Her appointment builds upon a prior role at IBM’s headquarters in New York where she served as the Chief of Staff to the Senior Vice President in Charge of Global Markets and Sales.

Prior to venturing in the technology sector, Kyerematen-Jimoh had previously worked in banking. She had stint at UBS Investment Bank and ABN AMRO in London as well as Guarantee Trust Bank in Ghana. She holds a BA in Marketing and French and is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School. Kyerematen-Jimoh has garnered several awards which include the U.S. African Women’s Forums Global Impact Leadership Award and the African Achievers Awards for Excellence in Business.
