A Look at Ghana’s Lucy Quist’s Recent Career Moves-By Drive Africa Writer

During the course of the year, Ghana’s Lucy Quist, a leading business and technology executive landed a new role as Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for Technology & Operations at US investment and financial services giant Morgan Stanley. A chartered engineer by training, Quist holds a first class degree from the U.K’s University of East London and an MBA from INSEAD. She began her career at the Ford Motor Company where she served in a variety of roles. She has worked across sectors in organizations such as the Royal Bank of Scotland, FIFA, and Airtel Networks where she served as the CEO for Airtel Networks in Ghana. During her tenure at Airtel, she helped to transform the company into a leading telecommunications brand in Ghana. Her role as CEO for Airtel in Ghana marked the first time a Ghanaian woman held that role. During her time at the Royal Bank of Scotland she served as Change Manager, a position which gave her the opportunity to play an essential role during a merger between ABN and AMBRO.

Quist has also held leadership positions outside the corporate world. She was the Co-Founder of the Executive Women’s Network (EWN), an organization committed to supporting women in senior leadership roles in organizations. She had also served as the Vice President of the FIFA GFA normalization committee. She is also the author of the book titled the ‘Bold New Normal’

Quist is a frequent speaker at many high level global events such as TED, The Wharton Africa Business Forum, the Mobile World Congress, and the Pan African Women Forum among others. Her work has been recognized through a number of awards and honors such as the Corporate Leadership Award through the Ghana Legacy Awards, BBC’s Power Women, the Telecoms CEO of the year Award among others.
